Acculynk Adds Card Number Tokenization to Online PIN Pad, Streamlines PCI Compliance for Small to Mid-Sized E-commerce and M-commerce Merchants
Atlanta GA (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- Acculynk, the leader in Internet PIN debit authentication for global e- and m-commerce, today announces a new product to help small and medium sized merchants to lower their PCI risk. Acculynk’s Tokenized Java Script Wrapper version of their PaySecure patented online graphical PIN pad tokenizes the card information which allows the merchant to use a token in place of a consumer’s actual debit card number. By not collecting the debit card number, some merchants can eliminate costly complex PCI compliance requirements and reduce the risk associated with collection of card data and PCI non-compliance.
Many small and medium sized businesses cannot afford the infrastructure or the processes required to meet the full scope of PCI compliance. With Acculynk’s tokenized solution a merchant simply requests a token from Acculynk in the place of the card number and can use that token for current and future transactions. The merchant eliminates the need to handle the consumer’s debit or credit card number.
If found to be PCI non-compliant, a merchant can be fined thousands of dollars a month. Additionally, they may face large fines if a breach occurs. The PCI Security Standards Council is an open global forum that develops security standards for account data protection.
