The Louis Berger Group Names New Vice President of Global Aviation
Morristown, N.J. (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- The Louis Berger Group (Louis Berger) announces that Javier Gonzalez has recently been named vice president of global aviation.
Gonzalez previously served as the director of airports program management for global aviation. In his new role, Gonzalez oversees both domestic and international aviation. He has a strategic role in supervising signature projects, such as those featured in the second-quarter 2013 issue of BergerWorld, the firm’s quarterly magazine.
“Javier has proven leadership in many of Louis Berger’s key aviation projects, and his new role will allow for sustained development of our aviation efforts worldwide,” said Andy Bailey, senior vice president of Global Operations. “I look forward to working with Javier as we strengthen our leadership position in the aviation industry.”
Gonzalez possesses more than 20 years of experience supervising the planning, design and construction of airport projects worldwide. For Louis Berger, Gonzalez has prepared a nationwide master plan for the needs of 22 airports in Egypt; managed the rehabilitation, expansion and modernization of Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan; supervised the construction of a new terminal at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius; and assisted in the program/construction management of the new Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Ecuador.
Gonzalez earned his bachelor’s degree in architecture and urban design from Higher Polytechnic Institute Jose Antonio Echeverria in Havana, Cuba. He later received his bachelor’s degree accreditation in architecture from the University of Miami and his airport planning certification from the International Air Transport Association’s Training and Development Institute.
Gonzalez is based out of the Miami, Fla., office.
