King of Prussia, PA (PRWEB) August 26, 2013
Communications Media, Inc. is sponsoring and mentoring four students from the Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School for the 2013-2014 school year.
Cristo Rey Schools offer a unique curriculum that combines academics, extracurricular activities and corporate work experience to prepare students for success in college and beyond. The school is geared toward young men and women in grades 9-12 who need economic assistance to achieve their full potential. Cristo Rey is a private school operated by a unique partnership of businesses, universities and parents.
CMI will mentor four students in the Marketing, Human Resources, IT and Media departments. Students will learn basic administrative and communication skills, teamwork, and receive a higher-level introduction to the world of strategic pharmaceutical marketing. At the end of the school year the students will have the opportunity to present a project to the entire company, including the executive team.
The internship experience started on Friday, August 23, 2013, as Cristo Rey and its students gathered with leaders from CMI and more than twenty other area businesses for a “job draft” event, in which the students found out what businesses they were recruited to work with this school year. The event mimicked the NFL draft format in that business leaders announced their student workers and presented company-branded apparel to each of the selected students.
