Officials Postpone Alexander Polli Wingsuit Flight Over St. Louis
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) August 23, 2013 -- SceneTap, a Chicago-based technology company that produces and provides businesses with real-time customer analytics and information, is launching at more than 40 bars in the St. Louis area on Friday, Aug. 23. SceneTap’s launch party will begin at 10:30 p.m. on Friday at Lucas Park Grille, 1234 Washington Ave.
As part of its new marketing campaign, “Make SceneTap Your Wingman,” the company enlisted world-renowned wingsuit flyer and BASE jump athlete Alexander Polli to jump out of a plane over St. Louis and soar over the skyline in his wingsuit. The jump, which was scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, has been postponed.
SceneTap and Polli had conversations with local government officials and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) leading up to the event. In recent conversations, new security concerns were raised that require the stunt to be delayed until further notice.
“We are disappointed to receive last minute communications from government agencies that contradicted the assurances we had received earlier from the FAA and other authorities,” said Cole Harper, co-founder and CEO of SceneTap. “These agencies are first and foremost concerned with public safety, and the attention of the event created new complications that need to be addressed. We understand their position and look forward to scheduling the wingman flight for another date.”
A video featuring Polli’s St. Louis-area practice flights will be made available on YouTube.
“I have been prepared for this event for weeks,” said Alexander Polli. “We had practice flights for three days this week and were ready to charge the castle. I look forward to returning to St. Louis and representing SceneTap in the future to help promote a mucho mucho awesome application.”
