San Jose, CA (PRWEB) August 26, 2013
Xangati, the recognized leader in cloud infrastructure and VDI performance management, today unveiled a new release of its Xangati Management Dashboard (XMD) suite, including significant enhancements to both its VI Dashboard for server virtualization and VDI Dashboard solutions, empowering virtualization managers with 360 degree cross-silo visibility and unparalleled context for managing and troubleshooting their virtualized infrastructures. This release incorporates new capabilities that provide full context regarding desktop pools and support for the LeoStream connection broker as well as two new dashboards – an SDN Dashboard and MyDashboard.
The new XMD release includes the following new product capabilities for the VDI Dashboard:
Desktop Pool Support
The Xangati VDI Dashboard now includes desktop pools as top-level objects. This allows administrators to easily manage groups of desktops as a single entity. Questions that can be answered with this dashboard insight include: How many users are logged in per pool? How many desktops are free in each pool? How is load-balancing between pools? What is the capacity utilization by pool for any of dozens of metrics? Desktop pools can be fully investigated live, recorded, or analyzed through detailed reports. Desktop pools are fully integrated with the Xangati StormTracker to identify any contention issues affecting a pool.
LeoStream Connection Broker Support
With the latest release, Xangati has added support for the LeoStream connection broker. While the Leostream broker supports View and XenDesktop deployments of Windows desktops, it also includes support for Linux desktops. Leostream has many large scale deployments of Linux desktops and Xangati is the management solution that can track these environments at scale, with users identified by name in all live views and historical reports. Xangati is the first management solution to integrate directly with the LeoStream broker.
The new XMD release includes the following new dashboards:
Xangati now supports customizable "mini-Dashboards" that focus on administrator-defined subsets of the infrastructure. This is ideal for situations where a group of VMs support a single application (such as email, or a database cluster) and there is a desire to have a small, dedicated dashboard to view just these VMs. Other examples are the ability for a storage administrator to look at a group of specific data stores or the ability for a network administrator to look at a specific set of virtual network interfaces. MyDashboard can be shared with application owners or other stakeholders to provide them insight, reports, and status on just the VMs (or other objects) they own.
Xangati has long provided the most granular solution for monitoring virtual networks whereby end-to-end network interactions between any pair of endpoints and their use of network interfaces can be seen in real time on a second by second basis. This capability is extended with the all-new SDN Dashboard. This new dashboard places the same dedicated focus on virtual networks that our VI and VDI Dashboards place on the virtualized infrastructure and virtualized desktops. The SDN Dashboard is ideal for network administrators who need end-to-end visibility into the virtual world and anyone who needs second-by-second monitoring of virtual networks. As organizations explore the software-defined-networking features that will be the center of the datacenter, the Xangati SDN Dashboard will be the obvious choice for assuring service availability, performance and requisite provisioning.
"The Xangati Management Dashboard product suite has always excelled in providing unparalleled views within virtualized environments by allowing you to view interactions occurring across the infrastructure as they occur," said Travis Conley, Infrastructure Manager, The Swett & Crawford Group. "Xangati enables administrators to quickly and easily see and assess how different parts of the infrastructure impact the other. Currently, in my opinion, no one does this as well as Xangati. Now, with this new release, they’ve added even more value, by allowing other IT members and stakeholders the same live interactions focused on the part of the infrastructure that they care about most."
"As the technology leader in both virtual infrastructure and VDI performance management, our goal is to provide customers with the most comprehensive products possible to instantly and continually track and analyze all of the dynamic interactions within their virtualized environment," said Jagan Jagannathan, founder and CEO of Xangati. "This release allows us to do just that by giving 360 degree cross-silo visibility into what’s causing performance issues through the actionable context of our incomparable alert recordings and the state-of-the-art storm tracker capability. Now Xangati goes deeper into network, server, desktop and storage than any other performance management solution to proactively find and help resolve a wide range of performance problems."
