Michael Ashe of Head Over Heels Athletic Arts is honored as the 2013 National Judge of the Year by the National Gymnastics Judges Association at the USA Gymnastics Championships and Congress in Hartford, Connecticut.

Michael Ashe is the Regional Technical Director of the National Gymnastics Judges Association & Head Over Heels' Head Boys' Team Coach

I am honored to receive this prestigious award from the National Gymnastics Judges Association. It serves as validation of all my hard work to represent the US in international competition and to educate the judges of the local judges’ association.

At the 2013 USA Gymnastics Championships held in Hartford, Connecticut Michael Ashe was presented with the prestigious National Judge of the Year award. Ashe, the head boys team coach at Head Over Heels Athletic Arts in Emeryville, CA, was at the event as a parallel bar judge and as a lecturer at the Gymnastics National Congress which is held in conjunction with Championships.

To be nominated, one must be a professional member of United States of America Gymnastics (USAG). Nominations are made by your peers and the final decision is made by the governing body of the National Gymnastics Judges Association. Ashe is certified to judge all levels of men’s gymnastics including the certification administered by the Federation of International Gymnastics. Recipients are chosen from each of the four regions. Ashe was chosen as the recipient from the West.
