"Unconventional Warfare" - the men who operate within this description are enlisted in every branch of the US Military and are a necessary component in The War On Terror, and the people at GruntSupport and The Green Beret Foundation know this full well.
Dr. Scott Gordon, PsyD of GruntSupport and Old Town Psychoanalytics, through his research on NAFOD and through the counsel he offers free of charge to Special Forces veterans, that is, unconventional warriors, realized that there are far too many side effects of combat for the Department of Veterans Affairs to manage. With this realization, his relationship with The Green Beret Foundation began and his undying efforts to raise money on their behalf was started.
The GBF does what many other organizations can't, according to their website, "The Green Beret Foundation provides unconventional resources to facilitate the special needs of our wounded, ill and injured and imparts unique support to the Special Forces community in order to strengthen readiness and uphold Green Beret traditions and values."
Says Dr. Gordon, "When our men and women go off to war it's easy to forget about the struggles they leave behind. When they return, it's easy to overlook the familial and relational struggles not seen on the news every night; The Green Beret Foundation exists to help manage these struggles, they help where others don't and because of this we all need to do more to support them", adding, "when we donate time, money or resources to organizations like the GBF, we're making a very real impact on the lives of our Green Berets and their families."
The raffle alone, which began on July 1st, ends on September 11th at 20:01 hours (that's military time for 8:01pm) has already raised over $3,000 and among the items being raffled off are GPS systems for land navigation, tactical helmets as worn by Tier 1 Operators, combat knives, AR15 rifle parts and more. The combined total value of items being raffled? $12,000.
