Utah Valley University (UVU) has enlisted PilmerPR CEO and business advisor John Pilmer, to teach Entrepreneurship (MGMT 3170.301) for a fourth semester in the Woodbury School of Business. This introductory class for aspiring entrepreneurs offers students a unique view into the real world of creating and running a successful startup company. Since his class meets on Saturday mornings, Pilmer continues as CEO for PilmerPR.
“I’m pleased to accept the university’s request and am excited to associate with these visionary students again,” states John Pilmer, MBA, APR. “This class requires students to actually form companies and make some serious money to get a great grade. It may be the first time they’ve encountered such an expectation in their education. The process is highly motivating for those who have the fire for business ownership.”
Pilmer and his online marketing and public relations firm, PilmerPR LLC, speeds the launch of emerging companies in multiple industries. With dozens of launches under his belt, four of his clients have reached the Inc. 500 so far. He is schooled in Fortune 100 environments and has also previously served as adjunct evening faculty in the Communications Department at Brigham Young University (BYU).
“We are happy John has agreed to teach this entrepreneur class again,” stated Dr. Peter Robinson, business professor at UVU. “His rich experience in launching successful businesses and his leadership in our community provide a good mentoring experience for our students. His students will definitely rise under his leadership.”
