Open Study College donates over £10,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support
Birmingham, England (PRWEB UK) 29 August 2013 -- Birmingham-based distance learning specialists Open Study College have smashed their charity fundraising target for the year.
Staff and students have raised over £10,000, and this sum will help with the provision of nurses, carers and other services provided by Macmillan Cancer Support.
The college donates £1 every time a new student enrols. The increasing number of students choosing to study via distance learning instead of a classroom-based course has helped to make 2013 their most successful charity fundraising campaign so far.
Samantha Rutter, Centre Director, commented: "We are thrilled to have donated a record amount this year."
"This donation will make a real difference to those who have been affected in some way by cancer."
"We are grateful to our students who collectively raised an additional £1,300, as this will really make a difference in supporting Macmillan's excellent work."
