Inc. magazine ranked Summa number 2381 on its seventh annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent entrepreneurs. Summa was recognized for its three-year sales growth of 152%.
“Summa is honored to make the Inc 5000 list for the third year in a row,” said Audrey Dunning, Summa CEO. “The recognition speaks to our revenue growth and expansion in every aspect of the company, including our nearly-doubled employee base, extending our geographic footprint to the Mid-Atlantic, new business partnerships, and enhanced services and offerings with our Enterprise Mobile Solutions.”
Inc. 500|5000 companies as a whole posted an impressive median growth rate of 142% in a stagnant economic environment. The companies on this year’s list report the creation of over 520,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $241 billion.

"Not all the companies in the Inc. 500 | 5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do. They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy,” says Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg.
In 2013, Summa gained increased recognition in Pittsburgh and the Mid-Atlantic, as exemplified by their numerous awards. The company won the prestigious IBM Beacon Award for "Outstanding Business Agility" and is a finalist for the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s Tech 50 award for “Interactive and Application Developer of the Year”. Summa is also recognized as one of the Post Gazette’s “Top Workplaces in Western PA” and the “Best Places to Work in Western PA” by the Pittsburgh Business Times.
