Bay Fastening Systems, a Blind Rivet Distributor, Comments on World’s Largest Building Opening in China
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- Bay Fastening Systems, a full service distributor of engineered fastening systems, comments on an article from Fodors.com that discusses the opening of the world’s largest building in China.
An August 13th article titled “World’s Largest Building Opens In China” from Fodors.com discusses the opening of the world’s largest building in China. The building is known as The New Century Global Center and is located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, in southwest China.
According to the article, the building is 1.7 million square meters in size – that is 20 times the size of the Sydney Opera House, or about 3 times the size of the U.S. Pentagon. The article goes on to say that the building features a “Paradise Island” water park, which contains indoor palm trees.
The building also contains plenty of attractions, including an “IMAX cinema, luxury shopping malls, offices, hotels, a university complex, a pirate ship (yep, a pirate ship), a skating rink, and an entire faux Mediterranean village,” says the article. The building has an ocean theme and is filled with designs of seagulls and waves.
Cliff Bernard, CEO and president of Bay Fastening Systems, a full service blind rivet distributor, comments on the story. “China has gained a reputation for building many mega structures. The New Century Global Center is probably one of the most impressive buildings ever constructed; the building acts as a mini city in itself.”
The article states the building has been declared the “largest freestanding building in the world” by Chinese officials. The city plans to add an airport and subway system by the end of 2020 to increase traffic to the area.
