If you wanted to add an element of style to your cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training, Onnit has you covered with the newest addition to their Primal Bell line. Following the successful sold-out launches of their Chimp and Gorilla Primal Bells, the one and a half pood (54lb) Orangutan design has made its debut to much anticipation.
"The Primal Bells were created as a powerful artistic symbol of the connection between homo sapiens to our primal needs. Just as a horse needs to run to be happy and a dog needs to play, for a human being to be at its best, it needs to work. Kettle bells are one of the most efficient and functional ways for us to get our work in." says Aubrey Marcus, CEO of Onnit.
Onnit isn't looking to keep just humans totally optimized however. The company has announced that it will be working with The Orangutan Project, a non-profit Australian based conservation organization, in an effort to support the latest inspiration to the Primal Bell line.
"The Orangutan is Asia's last remaining great ape. We are thrilled to be working with The Orangutan Project and helping the conservation efforts of one of Earth's most interesting creatures. A portion of all the proceeds of the Orangutan Primal Bell will be donated to the conservation efforts, and we'll be providing regular updates of the ape(s) we are able to adopt and rescue."
The Onnit Primal Bells are hand-sculpted pieces of functional art that takes kettlebells out of a dark garage and makes a statement in the gym, garage, or office. They are perfectly balanced and made from chip-resistant iron. The new Orangutan Primal Bell benefiting The Orangutan Project retails at $129.95.
