2013 Jenks Hometown Huddle Trojans Rock the Block
Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- The state-champion Jenks Trojans will kick off their home football season-opener while rockin’ the block in the first annual “Hometown Huddle”. This pep rally and carnival-style block party organized by Jenks Public Schools Foundation begins prior to the Jenks vs. Owasso Rams game Sept. 20 and will feature remarks from Coach Allan Trimble along with the first annual Trojan team walk. The community-wide event will include food, music, games, youth performances, pony rides and more.
For Coach Allan Trimble, head coach of the Jenks Trojans, the Hometown Huddle represents a chance to kick off the home football season as a community. “We think this is going to be a great new tradition for Jenks, and we're excited to partner with Jenks Public Schools Foundation,” he said. Trimble also commented, “We want everyone to line 2nd street from the parking lot to the Sharp Center at 5:00 pm to cheer on the team as they enter the event.”
This year’s event chair, Sally Mulready, has been working tirelessly along with her committee, to secure wonderful sponsors with the same vision for a fun, family event. “We love the idea of a party where parents, friends, students and community leaders ALL come together to support and show some good old-fashioned hometown pride.” This year’s presenting sponsor is Bill Knight Ford.
The festivities will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot south of Hunter Dwelley Field. The coach led team walk begins at 5:00 p.m. All students, parents, alumni, and community members are welcome. There is no cost to attend, but vendors will charge for their products. Vendor booths are available for $150. That price includes a 10x10 foot space, a 5-foot table and two folding chairs.
