Paying It Forward: Extending the White Glove Life to a Family in Need
Miami, FL (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- It has been often quoted, “It takes a village to raise a child.” What happens when there are seven children? Meet the Foster family, who for the last several years, have stepped in to be that necessary “village” to raise children who would have otherwise become wards of the state.
Sisters Crystal and Andrina, who have no children of their own, have joined their mother, Altagracia, to care for the children of their siblings for the past several years. The women are already foster parents to two boys whose mother abandoned them in New York City in 2006, yet stepped up again when their sister, Lakisha, mother of 5, was senselessly killed in a drive-by shooting last August.
“This has taken a toll on us especially because my sister [Andrina] and I do not have any kids of our own. I cannot have any children…I used up all my savings to help raise these kids,” said Crystal. “This means everything to us for someone to hear our story…we come together every weekend so that all of the kids can be with each other…we find a way to put a smile on the children’s faces.”
When a family comes together such as this, a tremendous sacrifice is made…one that may never be paid back. Fortunately, The Rick Party in the Afternoon Show seeks to highlight those who are “paying it forward” like the Foster family. The Show has teamed up with White Glove International to brighten the smiles of this family in crisis. “We think their sacrifice is deserving of a huge treat. So we jumped at the opportunity to partner with Rick Party and treat them to a VIP experience at Sun Life Stadium for the Dolphins/Saints game,” said White Glove CEO Michael Lipman.
The family was acknowledged on Hot 105.1 FM Rick Party’s Random Acts of Kindness Segment on August 27, 2013 at 6:30pm. The family will be granted access to “live the White Glove Life” with a visit to Sun Life Stadium this Thursday, August 29, 2013 to watch the Miami Dolphins take on the New Orleans Saints along with field passes to see the players up close.
