RV Solutions, a San Diego family-owned RV dealership, is in the process of implementing Integrated Dealer Systems (IDS) Astra G2’s dealer management software into its business. RV Solutions made the switch from its current solution provider and is looking forward to the capabilities IDS provides to handle its rapidly growing business.
“Our current solution was really easy to use from the sales standpoint and from a deal quotation side, but we’ve expanded for the last four years to include parts and service,” said General Manager Matt Leffingwell. “A major reason we looked at IDS was due to the volume of transactions and the interaction between sales, service and parts. We didn’t feel our current solution could handle the level we needed.”
When RV Solutions looked into making a switch, it narrowed its search for dealer management software systems between IDS and Reynolds & Reynolds. Although they liked the capabilities of each product, the advantage went to IDS.
“There are a lot of direct comparisons between the two software systems,” said Leffingwell. “They are both what I call ‘big level players’ in this business. We chose IDS because we liked specific features. The delivery calendar looks to be very valuable. It keeps everybody on the same page so sales, finance and service all see the same schedule. And whenever we change the delivery, everybody knows about it. Parts ordering is another big feature. We also liked the parts integration with service in terms of special order parts, the types of reporting, and the fact the product was more affordable.”
In addition to IDS Astra G2’s dealer management software, RV Solutions is also implementing IDS’s integrated CRM (Customer Relationship Management) module. Having full integration to properly manage contacts throughout the entire Astra system will provide full visibility within the dealership.
“We are looking forward to the automated capabilities CRM provides to help us continuously stay in contact with our previous leads. We also like the accountability CRM brings,” adds Leffingwell. “Like every dealer, you lose more people than you sell in a given day, so it will make sense to find a way to track those who got away for the first time.
