Tikkun Long Island, Inc., is a recently developed non-profit organization that offers reparitive services to individuals that may have been affected by the criminal justice system. Tikkun Long Island derives its name from the Hebrew word, “tik•kun,” which translates to “repair” or “heal.” Consistent with this theme, the organization’s mission is focused on preventative and healing measures intended to prevent the ripple effects of crime throughout our communities. The organization works diligently to bring closure and enlightenment to many victims and offenders who have experienced pain and suffering as a result of previously committed crimes. This focus is demonstrated in many facets of the company’s work, including precautionary lessons, a mentoring program, and other opportunities for forgiveness and reformation.
This coming October, Tikkun Long Island will be hosting a Healing Week, featuring various events across Long Island.
