NYSSA Offers New Training Courses for CFA Institute Claritas Investment Certificate Exam
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), the leading forum for the investment community, has launched a new set of in-person and online training courses for the Claritas Investment Certificate exam.
The first of its kind, the Claritas Investment Certificate is a global program introduced by CFA Institute to provide a clear understanding of the investment industry to financial services professionals who are outside of the investment role. Claritas is a two-hour multiple-choice exam administered throughout the year.
Mario E. Carias, CFA, NYSSA's director of education and test preparation, will teach NYSSA's Claritas preparation courses. The course covers an overview of the investment industry, ethics and regulation, tools and inputs, investment instruments, industry structure, industry controls, and serving clients' needs. Professionals who work in finance companies in the areas of operations, client support services, marketing, compliance, human resources, information technology, or legal departments should take the exam to strengthen their knowledge of finance and improve their performance.
“NYSSA is looking forward to extending its educational courses to professionals outside of the traditional investment role,” said Amy Geffen, PhD, NYSSA president and CEO. “Having a better understanding of finance ensures that these employees will make more informed decisions and come up with more creative solutions within their departments.”
Mario E. Carias, CFA, is the director of education and test preparation at the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), where he oversees the CFA prep classes as well as professional development courses. Carias has over 12 years of Wall Street experience in institutional equity research sales. He has worked for institutions such as CLSA, Unibanco, ABN-Amro and ING-Barings covering European and Latin American equities from 1992 to 2005. Most recently, he migrated into financial education, writing and teaching various investment analysis courses, corporate finance, and econometrics courses for T3 Live and Hunter College.
Carias will be teaching NYSSA’s Claritas Test Preparation Program on Tuesdays, September 17–November 12, 2013 from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
