Pathology Visions 2013 to Introduce New Conference Format
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- The Digital Pathology Association (DPA), a non-profit organization that facilitates education and awareness of digital pathology applications, will host its annual conference, Pathology Visions, September 29 – October 1, 2013 in San Antonio, TX at the Grand Hyatt. The first day will be comprised of educational and research presentations, while the second day will feature hands-on and interactive workshops.
Pathology Visions provides attendees the opportunity to learn about real-world, practical applications in the ever-evolving field of digital pathology. To stay on the cutting edge of digital pathology trends, the DPA has updated the Pathology Visions conference based on what’s happening in the digital pathology industry. Day one of the Pathology Visions conference will feature presentations given by experts in whole slide imaging, telepathology and other growing areas of the digital pathology field. Headlining the lineup of distinguished is Dr. Eric Glassy, the Medical Director at Affiliated Pathologists Medical Group (APMG). Dr. Glassy’s presentation is titled “The Hitchhikers Guide to Digital Pathology” and will cover topics such as education, tumor conferences, QR codes, consultations and multiplex analyses.
Day two will feature workshops that cater to all levels and interests of digital pathology, including a Digital Pathology 101 workshop. This workshop will provide participants with a broad and introductory overview of the field of digital pathology, including uses, benefits and limitations of digital pathology, an overview of the underlying technology (primarily whole-slide imaging), and regulatory, workflow and financial considerations.
