Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- The 2013 Asset Protection Summit held at Isleta Resort and Casino on the Pueblo of Isleta was a resounding success. As the Inaugural summit kicked off on Monday August 12th, Lance Vallo ( NIGC Regional Director) and Ernie Stevens Jr. ( NIGA Chairman) both were on hand for the Opening Generals Session of the conference. Also many other dignitaries from all over were in attendance.
The mission of the Asset Protection Summit is to safeguard and protect Tribal Assets through communication, education and enforcement.
The curriculum for the week encompassed everything from 'Protecting the Tribe's Casino Assets' - to the 'Value of Internal Control Systems.'
The ‘Active Shooter Review’ seminar was very popular among the attendees with Sargent Juan Reyes from the Pueblo of Isleta Police Department leading the class. This seminar aimed to better prepare attendees to deal with an active shooter situation as well as to raise awareness of behaviors and characteristics of active shooters in hopes of prevention. Incident response and workplace violence were also topics covered in this seminar to aid the police department in case such an issue should arise.
Vendors from all facets came forth and supported the 3-day conference such as Apic Sloutions, Inc., Avigilon, Isonas, and Personnel Security Consultants, Inc.
The surveys following the event showed a 90% excellent rating from the attendees.
