PSGi Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary with New, Managed Service Offerings
Walpole, MA (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- Precision Solutions Group, Inc. (PSGi), a global consultancy and support service leader for IBM i-powered companies, is celebrating its 10 year anniversary by introducing a four-tiered menu of managed service offerings. PSGi has honed the delivery of these services among select clients. The new, managed service options will benefit a broad cross-section of companies that employ iSeries-based business applications.
Collectively, PSGi’s new service options will encompass account management, installation, and implementation, along with comprehensive system administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Select service offerings will also provide change management and application administration solutions. In addition to presenting multiple flat-rate service models, the tiered system will help customers select the program that best meets their needs and delivers the most value.
“These new offerings are a natural extension what PSGi does differently, combining operational experience and technology expertise,” explained Larry Dube,” President and Co-Founder of PSGi. “Our team members each represent more than 25 years of enterprise software services—from the days of the IBM System/36 and all of its successors, up to the current POWER7+ servers. But we’re also industry veterans who can identify operational efficiencies, to optimize processes and ensure that software addresses business needs.”
Since 2003, PSGi delivers an ever-expanding portfolio of customer support and professional services, all focused on minimizing downtime and ensuring clients get the most from their systems and applications. Founded to support clients using Infor PRISM ERP, the firm has since added Oracle JDE World and Infor PRMS to its service and support offerings. PSGi now provides customer support and professional services for all enterprise business applications operating on the iSeries (IBM i™) platform.
“Our customers vastly prefer our practical approach, which encompasses all iSeries hardware and software systems and mission-critical applications,” said Dube. “We ensure business continuity is maintained from both a systems perspective and an application one. Since these are so interdependent, we deliver value unachievable from other sources. And we do it all as part of a one-stop, single vendor experience.”
Among said clients, H.B. Fuller and Motorsports Authentics spoke to the PSGi advantage, in terms of service offerings, resolution assistance, and standout partnership overall.
“H.B. Fuller has nine IBM i partitions running businesses all over the world. The success of our business is due, in part, to PSGi’s ability to make sure the operation of the hardware, operating systems, and user applications—in all areas—work flawlessly together,” affirmed Bob Culbertson, Global Director of Infrastructure at H.B. Fuller. “PSGi’s managed services span beyond the traditional services for hardware and operating systems alone, to provide services for how the user applications will interact with those hardware and software components. This gives us a partner that can not only provide services when needed, but a strategic advisor for planning systems and software as they are upgraded and expanded in the future.”
According to Keith Schwebel, Motorsport’s VP and CFO, “The team at PSGi had the responsibility to ensure all of our business applications were compatible with V7R1, and if necessary, upgrade those business applications to the proper release. They had to interface with the vendors and upgrade a number of applications while working with our team to make sure there was no interruption in service. To make matters a little more challenging, we did not have a test iSeries, and needed to perform the overall upgrade properly the first time without any hiccups. The PSGi team worked effectively and efficiently and made our experience seem like a non-event. Just as it should be.”
PSGi will launch its new, managed service offerings this month, which also marks the company’s 10 year anniversary. “Ten years is a testament to our unique value and commitment to the IBM i community,” reports PSGi’s senior sales and marketing executive, Dave Kravitt. “This is an opportunity for new and existing customers to outsource key tasks and free up direct employees to work on more value-add projects, resulting in a substantial return on their investment.”
