A traditional yet upscale barbershop concept set to begin offering franchises.

AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® is preparing to grow from a local barbershop company into a national brand with a new franchise development program and will immediately begin selling franchises in the southeastern United States, with future plans to expand nationally. AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® has spent the past ten years refining the concept and has proven their business model. The concept is now ready for significant expansion. American Haircuts Franchising, Inc. offers a full-service franchising program which includes assistance with site selection, location development, staffing, and marketing.

Co-founder David Alexander, who spent nearly a decade as Vice President and Director of Operations for a national chain of men’s salons (and is a nationally known name in the men’s segment of the hair industry), saw a huge hole in the men’s grooming market. Mr. Alexander remarks, “When we set out to create a new concept in men’s hair, we literally thought of everything -- from a sports theme to an ultra high-end men’s salon. Nothing we researched felt right. One night, we broke open a bottle of great scotch and started reminiscing about going to the barbershop with our dads -- how the place smelled, the laughter, the real conversations. And then it dawned on us. As men, we didn’t want some kind of cheesy theme or dumbed down concept, we just wanted our barbershop back. That’s what we did, we took the best elements of the traditional barbershop and combined it with some modern like big screen televisions, free wifi, and online appointments and created the type of environment embraces the classic American barbershop and takes it to a new level. AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® is the barbershop, reinvented for the modern age.”

Greg Martin, company co-founder adds, “AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® consistently wins “best of ” awards in the Atlanta market because we bring traditional barbershop services to a modern environment that is highly reminiscent of the old-school barbershop. While we are upscale, we’re never dull or politically correct and clients enjoy the camaraderie and neighborhood vibe we’ve created. In short, AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® is the kind of place guys can get a world class haircut at a fair price, share a few laughs, and get on with their day feeling refreshed.”

The AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® concept appeals to a wide audience. At nearly $60 billion a year, the men’s grooming segment of the salon industry is booming. There are nearly 150 million men in the United States and they need haircuts. “The barbering business is nearly recession proof -- looking great is never just a trend and hair keeps growing. Combine that with the extensive experience of our management team, and we believe AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® to be a very enticing investment opportunity,” co-founder Scott Brown stated.

The AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® concept was founded in 2005 by three friends who long enjoyed the traditional barbershop, but wanted something that offered a higher level of quality and service. AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® is committed to providing clients an environment that is traditional and upscale, but never stuffy. Clients can enjoy a precision haircut or hot-lather face shave, professional grooming products, and an experience they will certainly remember. The AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® concept keeps the concept simple by offering a straightforward menu of services (haircuts, hot shaves, and beard trims) and a carefully researched selection of men’s grooming products that cover a man’s grooming needs with a variety of price points. This approach seems to be working as AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® has received numerous awards and accolades, including Best Barbershop from Creative Loafing, City Search, Jezebel, and Atlanta Magazine and has been featured on CBS Atlanta and 680 The Fan.

AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® also gives back to the local community by supporting The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the leading volunteer-driven source of funding for childhood cancer research. Since 2010, AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® St. Baldrick’s charity events have raised over $502,000 for childhood cancer research. AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® also makes regular contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life. They have also sent substantial personal care packages to troops overseas and participate in VetFran, an initiative of the International Franchise Association, which helps to provide a career path to enable veterans to become leaders of and productive participants in the U.S. Economy.

AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and was established in 2005 by founders David Alexander, Greg Martin, and Scott Brown. Currently, the partners operate two company owned AMERICAN HAIRCUTS® shops in metro Atlanta and are now accepting applications for franchising opportunities from qualified candidates.
