David M. Keelen, M.D., Joins Comprehensive Pain Management Center
McKinney, TX (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- David M. Keelen, M.D., a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and fellowship trained in interventional pain medicine, has joined the staff of Comprehensive Pain Management Center with offices in Lewisville, Frisco and McKinney.
One of only a handful of physicians in the country uniquely trained in intrathecal therapy with a micro dosing strategy, Dr. Keelan offers patients with chronic pain an array of treatment options to help restore their quality of life with long-term success.

Upon graduation from Cedar Hill High School in South Dallas, he attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, where he graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average in cellular and molecular biology. He then pursued his medical training at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, where he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine. He then completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology at UTMB and is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology. He completed his training with a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at UTMB.
He is a specialist in the treatment of numerous pain syndromes including chronic neck and back pain, post-laminectomy syndrome, nerve pain, arthritis and muscular pain. Dr Keelen is dedicated to the success of his patients. He is a compassionate physician who believes in a goal-directed approach to management. He treats each patient as an individual and tailors their therapy accordingly.
The cornerstones of his treatment strategies include restoring the quality of life of his patients by increasing their functionality and reducing their pain. He favors treatments that will accomplish these goals with minimal systemic side effects. Dr. Keelen performs a wide array of injection therapies, radiofrequency thermocoagulation, spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal therapy, and he manages his pain pumps using a unique low dosing strategy which he believes gives patients the best opportunity at a restored quality of life and long-term success.
