Turner Construction Company Delivers Safety Message to 40,000 Workers at Ninth Annual Safety Stand-Down
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- On Tuesday, September 3rd, work will be suspended on Turner Construction Company jobs across the United States while safety managers deliver an important message on Personal Health and Well-Being, On and Off the Job.
Turner is committed to the principle of Building L.I.F.E. (Living Injury Free Everyday). We recognize the need to go beyond the fences of the jobsite and spend time communicating with our staff, tradespeople and partners about the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. Our goal is to increase awareness of early warning signs to avoid and minimize personal health emergencies.
As part of this goal, Turner will hold its ninth annual National Safety Stand-Down on Tuesday. We will stop work and take time to refocus our attention on safety, specifically on assistance and support for our employees and others working on our projects in their efforts to establish healthier lives. Showing workers where to find information and resources to help protect and improve their health is one of our primary goals this year.
Cindy DePrater, Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety said, “Holding these Stand-Downs is one way Turner demonstrates how safety is integrated into our company culture.” She continued, “Turner is focused on continuous improvement, empowering people to find and suggest solutions, and has an unwavering commitment to sending every worker home safe and healthy every day.”
