Tamiko is a European clothing brand, created for preemies and babies in NICU.
The clothes were launched near the beginning of 2013 and have been praised by preemie parents, nurses and media.
Each garment is specially created for the tiny babies who need to start their lives in NICU.
The design of the clothes enables parents and NICU staff to easily care for the baby, while connected with tubes and wires to medical equipment.
The natural fabric is the softest cotton that can be found, and some of the garments have the cutest animal print. The clothes are washable at hot temperatures, something that is important for NICU.
The clothes come in two preemie sizes and newborn size, and hats are also available for micro preemies. Hats play an important role for preemies, as it helps them maintain their own body temperature.
There are no itchy labels in the neckline; instead all labels are placed near the diaper area so they never touch the baby’s skin.
All rompers, leggings and long-sleeved onesies have fold-over mittens and/or socks, and the onesies are adjustable in size. The sleep gown is the NICU nurses´ favorite; wires can easily be threaded through the side or bottom, and it gives the baby a cocooned feeling.
And since the clothes are also available in newborn size, they make a great baby shower gift for new parents who are still getting used to their new baby.
The clothes are now available internationally for the first time in Tamiko’s online shop: nicuwear.com.
