Votto Vines Unveils Imported Wine Incubator Program
Hamden, CT (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- Votto Vines Importing, a rapidly expanding wine importing and marketing company, has announced the launch of a new incubator program to formalize and streamline its processes for importing wines into the United States. The program will establish a standardized system for reviewing and evaluating wines not currently in the U.S. market, including processes for evaluation of particular markets, determination of pricing structure and SRP, and navigation of wine label review, registration laws and other regulatory issues.
“By codifying what we do on a daily basis and creating a documented program that can be easily understood and sent out to wineries, distributors and other partners, we’re able to streamline an often lengthy and complicated process, which we feel will ultimately position Votto Vines and our portfolio for even faster growth,” said President and CEO Mike Votto.
The incubator program comes on the heels of already impressive growth for the innovative family-operated company, which was launched in the midst of the global recession and has expanded rapidly since. “In 2009, we launched our business locally and sold approximately 1,000 cases out of the back of our cars resulting in very modest sales of about $100,000, while this year we anticipate doing several million dollars in sales throughout the United States. We remain a small and humble family company, but we are excited about our growth trajectory and the partnerships that we have established,” said Votto Vines CFO Stephen Votto.
Led by Mike Votto, an established hospitality and private equity lawyer who was recently named as one of Connecticut’s Top 40 Emerging Business Leaders Under 40, the six members of the Votto family business have been able to combine their varied professional backgrounds in law, engineering, finance, sales and tourism to create a new kind of forward-thinking import company. Votto Vines’ early success rests on its focus on the importation, marketing, and distribution of fine wines produced by leading boutique vineyards in combination with the development of several high-profile private label and wine licensing programs.
Votto Vines 90+ collection features some of the top rated wines currently being produced in Italy, Spain, France, Argentina and Australia, two of which earned places on Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast’s lists of Top 100 wines for 2012. On the private label side, Votto Vines has created proprietary wine programs with music legend B.B. King and famed eco-stylist Danny Seo, and developed two licensed wine brands for CBS Consumer Products, including most recently a Star Trek wine. Votto Vines is also the sole U.S. importer and wine licensing partner of the Order Sons of Italy in America, the largest and oldest Italian American organization.
Through this unique combination of estate wines and private label programs, the startup importer has built a strong distributor network with major partners such as Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC), and has successfully broken into leading national retailers including Costco, Wines Til Sold Out and Total Wine & More. Through these relationships and others, Votto Vines has seen case sales increase 300% year-over-year in the first six months of 2013 alone.
