“Center of the Brewniverse” Promises Microbrews, Macro Fun
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- Fremont transforms into the “Center of the Brewniverse” at Fremont Oktoberfest September 20-22, boasting the biggest beer garden in the Northwest with a Tasting Garden offering over 100 seasonal beers poured by more than 40 top breweries.
“Everyone knows Fremont is the ‘Center of the Universe,’” says Creative Director Phil Megenhardt, “and we take it even further, transforming the neighborhood into the ‘Center of the Brewniverse’ with the most incredible lineup of Fall beer.”
The lineup represents the full spectrum of beer options including 26 IPAs, 10 Oktoberfest beers, numerous ales and imports.
“Fall brings an abundance of seasonal beer flavors that we can’t wait to showcase,” says Megenhardt. “We’ve got it all.”
Halloween themed brews include the Newcastle Werewolf and Bridgeport Witch Hunt, with pumpkin flavors highlighted by two beers and a cider: the Stingy Jack Pumpkin Ale, Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin Ale, and Woodchuck Hard Cider Private Reserve Pumpkin.
In an ode to German tradition, there are a number of modern twists on classic Oktoberfest brews including Bainbridge Island Brewing’s Bainbidgetoberfest, Fish Brewing’s Leavenworth Oktoberfest, and Widmer Brother’s Brewing’s Okto Festival Ale.
The Undercover Shutdown Ale by Lagunitas Brewing Company takes home the prize for the highest ABV (alcohol by volume) at 9.8, with the Wrecking Ball Imperial Stout by No-Li Brewhouse taking second at 9.5.
For the gluten free or non-beer-lovers, Fremont Oktoberfest features ciders, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Tickets to the Fremont Oktoberfest Tasting Garden are $20 and up for guests 21 and over. When purchasing tickets, there is a choice to try a variety of different beers in a 5 oz. mini-mug or to head straight to the Buxom Beer Garden to enjoy half-liter or full-liter steins of German beer. Attendees save $10 by purchasing in advance online.
