Purdue Software Engineer Turned Entrepreneur Launches Mobile Marketing Platform
Lafayette, Indiana (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- Former Purdue University software engineer Broc Seib announces the launch of SendTree, a mobile marketing platform that makes it easy and affordable for businesses and organizations to send text messages, emails and voicemails to large and small groups alike. Unlike other mobile messaging services, SendTree enables end users to choose the types of messages they receive so they get only the stuff they want.
“Every organization has felt the struggle of staying connected to the people who matter most,” Seib says. “Cutting through the clutter of marketing messages target audiences swim in daily is tough for any organization. In order to be heard, organizations must meet an audience in the spaces they frequent. Today, it’s no secret this space is mobile.”
Seib decided to pursue SendTree not only because of the market demand for a user-friendly, affordable mobile marketing platform, but also to fulfill his lifelong goal of starting a business. “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial itch. If anything, I should have set out on my own sooner,” Seib says.
While Seib’s desire to create SendTree had more to do with a lifelong dream of starting a business than with his ability to build the platform, he has deep roots in software. Drawing on 13 years of experience, including his final project at Purdue involving global warming and writing a program that pinpointed where carbon emissions originated from within a 10-kilometer radius, Seib had no problem building the mobile marketing platform from scratch. “I like the creative element of software and the idea that you create something out of nothing,” Seib explains. “Software lets you explore something you can’t in a physical world. You can go a lot further faster in the digital world.”
Oftentimes, mobile marketing platforms can be difficult to navigate or require purchasing expensive software upfront. SendTree’s ease of use, affordability and user opt-in feature set it apart from the rest of the mobile marketing pack. Early adopters are recognizing the value.
“SendTree is extremely simple and intuitive to use. It took about five minutes to learn how to effectively use it,” says Colleen Fanning, owner of Grey Market Wine in Zionsville, Ind. “It helps me communicate directly with my members in a more personal way. They absolutely love getting reminders about special events, promotions and insider information. I'm extremely pleased with SendTree and look forward to using it as a significant part of my customer relationship strategy in the future.”
“SendTree allows me to connect with my regular customers so I am always top of mind when they are looking for a place to lunch,” says Shelley Jordan, owner of Blu Moon Café in Carmel, Ind. “I use SendTree to send my daily specials directly to customers who have opted-in to receive them. Since SendTree is linked to my social media accounts, these messages will appear in my updates so I only have to enter the information once.”
At only $8/month and two cents per message sent, SendTree’s price makes it accessible to any organization. “I leverage the cloud to make SendTree affordable for users, but also work as a viable business since I don’t have to own any hardware or backend stuff. I guess you could call it cloud economics at work,” says Seib.
Free 30-day trials are available through the SendTree website (http://www.sendtree.com). Digital guide “SendTree 101” and an informative video are also available on the site.
SendTree, based in Lafayette, Indiana, is the easy, affordable and no-strings-attached option for organizations to reach their audience directly through text messages, emails and voicemails.
