Candleberry Company Releases Limited Edition Candle
Frankfort, KY (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- Lauren Bells was only three years old when her family was told that she had a rare form of childhood cancer, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). According to the DIPG Registry (http://www.dipgregistry.org/medical-professionals/prognosis/), most studies indicate a median survival of less than 1 year from diagnosis. As Lauren’s cousin Karen Bells wrote in the Cincinnati Business Courier, "Lauren beat that milestone by 12 days, and her family was deeply grateful for every extra minute they had with her." Lauren died on September 26, 2008.
The Candleberry Company, known for its highly scented, clean-burning candles, once made a candle whose fragrance was named "Lauren." As their line developed, the scent was discontinued. However, recently they were contacted by Tina Bells, Lauren’s aunt, who inquired about the scented candle. After hearing the story of this brave little girl, who endured radiation and chemotherapy and the ravages of the disease, Candleberry decided to produce a limited edition "Lauren" candle. They will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of this item to the American Cancer Society, in honor of Lauren MacKenzie Bells and the fifth anniversary of her passing.
The "Lauren" candle is available through the company’s website at https://www.candleberry.com/view-product?name=Lauren_Candle, as well as through retail outlets. With a citrus and floral scent, the candle is a lovely purple hue, because Lauren Bells loved all things purple. The candle will be produced for a limited time, as Candleberry measures the response of their customers to the product and the opportunity to support the American Cancer Society.
