It is always a phenomenal opportunity to help those who are less fortunate and to support our community in ways that actively improve the conditions of its people.

Over 60 employees from local search marketing firm, Wpromote, raised $500 for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services Visitation Center by organizing a fundraiser called Rock & Reunite at Rock & Brews restaurant in El Segundo on August 6, 2013. The restaurant donated 15% of the proceeds from all food and beverage sales to benefit the Department’s current efforts to construct and furnish a visitation center that gives foster children an opportunity to visit and redevelop relationships with members of their immediate family.

According to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, there are currently close to 900 children in the South Bay region of Los Angeles that reside in foster homes due to neglect and/or abuse. The center’s primary focus is for these children to safely reunite with their biological family. Monitored visitation centers allow supervisors to properly assess whether children can safely return to their primary caregivers based on the demonstration of appropriate behavior by the parents involved.

"It is always a phenomenal opportunity to help those who are less fortunate and to support our community in ways that actively improve the conditions of its people," said Wpromote employee Ashley Cumming, who is also a member of their charity initiative, Wprovide. "Providing support for our local families is an enormous priority in the eyes of Wpromote."

Wpromote strongly believes in giving back to the community, which is why Wprovide was created. The Wprovide team organizes charitable events, drives and fundraisers, like the Rock & Reunite event, to benefit causes that the Wpromote employees are passionate about. Wprovide’s upcoming event will be supporting the Alzheimer's walk for the Alzheimer's Association in October.
