Interdean Reflects on Why British Expats Are Choosing to Live Further from Home
(PRWEB UK) 29 August 2013 -- The article, British Expats Increasingly Choosing to Live Further From Home, published August 12th in Expat Forum, reveals a steady decline in European destinations such as previous favourites like France and Spain. Whilst the top destination for those looking to relocate is still Australia, Canada came in second, with the United Arab Emirates in third. Career opportunities seem to be the biggest factor driving more expats towards this destination, as cited by 75% of respondents. Other popular choices were New Zealand, the US and Singapore, whilst other far flung destinations such as China and Hong Kong also saw significant growth.
Helping customers move to a variety of destinations around the world for more than 50 years, the relocation experts at Interdean have noticed a trend in UK expats heading towards more exotic locations. A representative reflects on possible reasons behind this trend.
“Technology has a lot to do with people venturing further from home. Smartphones with internet access and social tools such as Facebook and Skype allow people to stay in touch with family and friends back home easily and conveniently, from anywhere in the world. Someone moving to the United Arab Emirates for example can benefit from the career opportunities and better weather whilst also feeling connected with everyone they’ve left at home.”
The team at Interdean look forward to reviewing the latest expat polls and research.
