A Chief Rabbi, an Actor and a Doctor Walk into a Lab… and Start up a New Generation of Jewish Social Entrepreneurs
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- CORE18 Leaders Lab, a new and exclusive entrepreneurial boot camp designed to create the next generation of Jewish social innovators, was unveiled today by actor Mayim Bialik of The Big Bang Theory, UK Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, and Dr. Tal Ben Shahar who taught Harvard’s hugely popular course “The Psychology of Leadership”.
“CORE18 Leaders Lab is a mad scientist’s dream,” said CORE18 Co-Chair Mayim Bialik, a neuroscientist and star of the top-rated TV show “The Big Bang Theory”. “We bring in emerging Jewish leaders and give them the connections, training and funding they’ll need to experiment with cool new ideas that can change the Jewish landscape.”
“When I taught the leadership course at Harvard, I noticed something was missing—a platform for students to take the concepts they’ve learned and actualize them,” said Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, CORE18 Co-Chair and celebrated author and lecturer. “CORE18 Leaders Lab will give fellows all the personal tools they need to become great people and great leaders.
“CORE18 Leaders Lab is the most complete leadership program for young Jews who aspire to do great things in the world,” said Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth, Lord Jonathan Sacks, author of more than 25 books and who steps down from his position on September 1st. “I am honored to be a Co-Chair of CORE18, and to help this new generation connect their Judaism to their idealism to make a difference.”
Co-Founder Raphael Shore says, “I’m very excited about this fellowship program... it’s a unique offering in the Jewish community. CORE18 Leaders Lab gives young Jewish leaders the opportunity to build themselves, their ideas and their communities through a high-powered fellowship and accelerator program.”
Applications are now being accepted for CORE18 Leaders Lab: a full-scholarship program for Jewish leaders ages 19-25. Space is limited to thirty-six fellows each term. Completed applications must be submitted by October 15, 2013.
