CPAmerica International Builds Stronger Bonds in First Year of Visitation Improvement Program
Gainesville, FL (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- CPAmerica International members recently completed the first year of its new Visitation Improvement Program (VIP). The VIP was created as a special program that allows member firms to see the inner workings of their fellow association members in order to continue to improve as a team.
Recently, after completing a visitation, some managing partners from the association -- who had previously not known each other very well -- were continuing the conversation on the green, not just as colleagues but as friends. A golf game between friends is not unusual, but in this case it represents so much more. The program brings together partners who may at first be acquaintances and gives them the platform to develop a deeper professional relationship.
“This program is intended to allow a trusted colleague to give you their take on your business in a structured environment,” said Alan Deichler, president of CPAmerica. “Members spend two and a half days getting to know each other’s firms and then make recommendations based on what they see. So far, we have had a great response to the program and participants have taken the time to make thoughtful recommendations.”
In this program, teams of two visiting managing partners are selected to visit a firm. They then spend two and a half days learning about the firm and how it functions in its day-to-day operations. CPA firms come in many shapes and sizes and while members of the association share many similarities, they all have the ability to run their businesses very differently.
At the end of the program, the VIP team makes their recommendations and discusses their perspective with the entire partner team being visited. Ultimately, the firm can choose to implement or not implement any of the recommendations, but a deeper connection with other members of the association has been established. They have become each other’s trusted advisor.
