This year, the festival will take place for a week, starting Monday, October 14th. There will be a "Mark of Distinction" section for films and the tickets are available on the website. One of the Mark of Distinction movies ‘Scatter Joy’ is about the inspiring story of legally blind cartoonist Brent Harpur. A Melbourne based artist who has always wanted to visit New York since he was an art student 25 years ago, will be finally fulfilling his wish for the first time to attend his screening. With so many heroes like Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Patti Smith, he is very excited to visit New York City. Brent also has a special treat lined up for the audience who are watching his film. He will be cartooning them for free as a thank you for watching. The film festival is very excited to host this talented artist.
The tickets for the official selections of the film festival are already on the sale. The opening party on October 18th at the Producers Club will kick off the festivities with music, drinks, and more.
