These strong men and women may not be living or working in the places we call home, but they are still a big part of our community.

The pest and termite control experts at U.S. Pest Protection are showing their appreciation for the hard work and sacrifices made every day by a group of Marines stationed in Iraq with care packages. Donation boxes are located at the U.S. Pest Protection branch offices in Nashville and Hendersonville. U.S. Pest Protection will be shipping two separate boxes every two weeks, one for men and one for women.

Many of the soldiers in this specific unit are orphans and do not have family back home to provide them with much needed supplies unavailable to them in Iraq. Through this added support and encouragement, U.S. Pest has taken it upon itself to become a part of these Marines’ extended family back in the States.

“One of the biggest focuses for us is community activism,” stated U.S. Pest Protection President Erica Brister. “These strong men and women may not be living or working in the places we call home, but they are still a big part of our community. Every day they are making sacrifices for those of us who have the privilege to spend time with friends and family whenever we like. This is the least we can do to show our support and appreciation for their contribution to the country as a whole and communities all over.”

As a female run business, U.S. Pest Protection is placing special emphasis on collecting supplies for women, a demographic often overlooked in many armed forces donation drives. People often forget that there are also thousands of brave women who have made the commitment to serve our country in different branches of the military.

The first shipment of care packages was delivered Friday, August 28 and more are to follow every two weeks. U.S. Pest Protection is asking those interested in donating to bring supplies such as travel sized games, books, non-perishable foods, toiletries and other useful items. To contribute, simply drop off your donations at either U.S. Pest Protection location and they will take care of the rest. This represents only a small portion of what U.S. Pest Protection is doing each day to make our world a better place to live, at home and across the globe.
