Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- Apple is rumored to be announcing the release of the next iPhone at an event to be held September 10, according to a leak from All Things D (08.10.2013). While pundits have predicted the most likely advances of the next iPhone, Everspark Interactive founder Chris Watson says fans should expect surprises.
The new iPhone is likely to be dubbed the 5S, and the alleged launch date matches the calendar Apple has maintained for launching past models, according to CNN(08.12.2013). Tech blogs relying on a variety of leaks have predicted core features of the 5S: it will run on the revamped iOS 7, will have a fingerprint scanner for added security, and will offer an improved camera and faster processor.
None of those supposed updates represent an upset in the smartphone world, where Apple has been losing market share to competitors Samsung and Google. But Chris Watson, who has built Atlanta-based Everspark into an SEO and marketing powerhouse, says there will be at least one major twist.
“Apple has been criticized for lacking innovation since losing Steve Jobs,” Watson said. “They know they need to take back the spotlight and I can't imagine they would let this opportunity pass without a glitzy new feature.”
As for what that feature would be, Waston says it doesn't have to be space-age to be a leap forward.
“We know Google is designing a phone that's always aware of what's happening around it, and can predict user needs,” Watson said. “But the iPhone uses essentially the same sensors, and it would be a coup for Apple to roll it out first.”
No matter what feature Apple puts front and center, Watson says it will need to be more than a cosmetic upgrade.
“They need something no one else has,” he said. “They need the next Siri.”
