Diablo Publications is pleased to announce the hiring of Nick Boer as senior food editor for Diablo magazine. Boer will be responsible for overseeing all Diablo magazine’s food coverage. He brings over 20 years of experience in the restaurant and food industry.

Boer has a B.S. in journalism from San Jose State and a master’s in psychology from JFK University. He has been a freelance restaurant reviewer for the San Francisco Chronicle and the food editor for the Contra Costa Times. Boer has reviewed more than 600 restaurants, with the majority in the Tri-Valley and Contra Costa County region.

Boer’s hands-on experience as a master chef and sous chef elevates his expertise and credibility in the culinary world. He was the executive chef at the Westin Kauai under three-star Michelin chef Louis Outhier, as well as executive chef at Savannah Grille in Corte Madera, Casa Madrona in Sausalito, and Cafe Mozart in San Francisco. Boer also worked as the sous chef at Tourelle in Lafayette and Hawthorne Lane in San Francisco.
