HealthSmart is pleased to announce that Marty Sholder has joined the organization effective September 1, 2013. He will serve as Executive Vice President of Network Solutions. Mr. Sholder will be based in the Company’s headquarters in Irving, Texas and will oversee HealthSmart’s national network operations. With extensive experience in strategic plan management, product development and network development, Mr. Sholder will be a strong addition to HealthSmart’s executive team.
He comes to HealthSmart from CompNet America. As its President and Co-Founder, he led the company to significant national growth. Mr. Sholder was also responsible for the successful expansion and business development of its workers’ compensation PPO network. Strategic planning, network management and operational improvements are his primary areas of expertise. He has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
Prior to CompNet, Mr. Sholder was the CEO and Owner of PPO Oklahoma, Inc., a leading independent healthcare network based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Additionally, Mr. Sholder served as Senior Vice President for Coventry Health Care where he was directly responsible for an $80 million block of business and the management of the First Health Network, Coventry’s six million member PPO. As the business unit leader, he successfully increased network sales by almost seven times during a three year period.
Mr. Sholder has a Master of Science degree in Health Systems Management from Rush University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University.
