AAPT Graduates Making Waves in the Personal Training Industry
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- In July and August, AAPT featured two graduates – Dan Salazar & Sarah Ponn.
Dan Salazar, a 2009 AAPT NYC graduate, has gone on to partner up with two mentors who together have opened several training facilities and two satellite boot camps in the tri-state area called KRANK Systems. They have 16 personal trainers on staff and still growing.
Dan says the three most important factors in his success are: “(1) Continuing education—the field is changing very rapidly we must stay up to date on all of the information that is out there to better serve our clients; (2) Mentors—align yourself with people that are where you want to be; and (3) Take action—[if you are an AAPT student or graduate] you are about to or have already received one of the best personal training credentials in the fitness industry!”
He attests, “With an AAPT certificate, you will have the tools to be a great trainer and make a difference in the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people’s lives.”
Sarah Ponn, a 2011 AAPT Boston graduate, has been a busy girl these past few years. After graduation she started her personal training career working with one-on-one clients and running her own bootcamp in the park in Boston.
Sarah Ponn, a 2009 AAPT Boston graduate, has been a busy woman these past few years. After graduating, she started her personal training career working one-on-one with clients and running her own bootcamp in Boston. Sarah says, “AAPT taught me to think outside the box when it comes to fitness. I learned that it’s not just about the science you learn from a book, it’s about bringing your own personal spin to working out.” That kind of thinking is what opened the door to a huge business opportunity for Sarah—one that landed her a deal on ABC’s “Shark Tank” in September 2012. Sarah and her business partner developed SURFSET Fitness—a unique and wildly innovative workout that harnesses the all fitness benefits of surfing, minus the water. Today, Sarah is making waves throughout the fitness community as she tours the U.S. with SURFSET, helping people get fit and have fun while they’re at it.
AAPT graduates, like Dan and Sarah, are hard at work across the U.S. and overseas, making a powerful impact within the personal training industry and giving credit to the solid foundation provided by their AAPT education. If interested in acquiring more information, AAPT has full service admissions teams in both their New York City and Boston locations.
Headquartered in New York City with a branch in Boston, AAPT is a private occupational school that is internationally recognized for its innovative hands-on approach to personal training education and certification. Its intensive combination of 130 hours of classroom lecture and 170 hours of laboratory instruction covers areas including exercise science, customized programming, injury prevention and business planning.
