Accounting Association CPAmerica International Celebrates 35th Anniversary
Gainesville, Fla. (PRWEB) August 31, 2013 -- In 1978, eight firms came together under the common belief that they could accomplish more by learning from each other than they could on their own. Together they created the accounting association, Accounting Firms Associated, Inc. By 1990, the association had grown to include 43 firms. That same association went on to become CPAmerica International, with 75 independent CPA firms.
“We are at an exciting time in the association’s development,” said Alan Deichler, president of CPAmerica. “Associations have drastically changed in the last 35 years and now more than ever we have the opportunity to contribute to our member’s growth and development. We have changed and evolved to give members the platform they need to reach their strategic plans.”
McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith, PC, and Hunter Group CPA LLC, two founding members of CPAmerica, recall their experience over the last few decades.
“Our involvement with CPAmerica began in 1979 and throughout these years, CPAmerica has been there every step of the way. “Strength in Sharing” has been the cornerstone of our association,” said Bob McGowen, managing partner with McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith, PC. “The willingness of association firm members to share knowledge and experiences has contributed greatly to making MHC&S a better firm. I truly value the great friendships I and our firm members have built with the CPAmerica staff, with the leading partners and with so many quality firm members throughout the association. The opportunity to network with my peers both nationwide and internationally has been valuable to our firm growth. Congratulations to CPAmerica for 35 years of leadership for our profession.”
“In 1978, the association’s founders had a bold vision,” notes Frank Pawlowski, CPA, co-managing director of Hunter Group CPA LLC, one of the original founding firms. “They correctly anticipated the need for local CPA firms to collaborate on engagements, share best practices and simply talk out problems and opportunities. While fulfilling our wish to remain fiercely independent, CPAmerica and its members have created a structure that adapts to an ever changing environment while delivering world-class service,” Frank observed.
In honor of the association’s 35th anniversary, the association has planned to celebrate at their annual Leading Partners Retreat and Firm Administration Roundtable in September.
