Team Silva Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Offering Toddler Samurai Class in Alameda.
Alameda, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- Through learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, children learn Leadership, Discipline and Respect. Now, Team Silva BJJ is offering a Toddler Samurai class to teach children ages 2 1/12 to 4 years old the principles of this legendary martial art. A parent is invited to participate until the child is comfortable learning on their own and children must be potty-trained or have an adult around to assist them.
“Starting early is a great way for children to make the principles of martial arts part of their core self. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, like all classic martial arts, is not about fighting, but about learning the core strengths that manifest themselves as Leadership, Discipline and Respect. Learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is about learning how not to have to fight, especially with oneself.” – Sergio Silva, Sensei, Silva BJJ
Classes will be held Saturday from 11 am to 11:45 am, October 12 to November 9. Team Silva also offers Kids Samurai (4-10 years old) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 pm to 6 pm and Junior Samurai (11 y.o. and up) classes Mondays and Wednesdays, 5 pm to 6 pm. Parents can sign children up at http://www.teamsilvabjj.com or in person at the dojo at 1706 Lincoln Ave., Alameda.
“We use games and activities to teach the youngest Samurai the principles of this life-affirming art. While they’re having fun, they are learning principles that can help them to be leaders throughout their lives, particularly when it comes time to make some of life’s most difficult decisions.” – Sergio Silva, Sensei, Silva BJJ
