Car finance experts Car Loan 4U comments on the UK’s ongoing pothole problem
Macclesfield, Cheshire (PRWEB UK) 31 August 2013 -- Potholes on the roads of the UK that can severely damage vehicles have long been a problem for new and used car owners, but according to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) local authorities are beginning to communicate with motorists about the problem.
Research conducted by the IAM found that while councils in UK are making the effort to let motorists know when potholes will be repaired in their area, just fewer than 50% of authorities polled said they had taken the initiative to publicise their pothole repair policies - with 85% clearly stating their definitions of what a pothole actually is.
Car Loan 4U Director Ryan Dignan, comments:
“We hear time and time again about reports of potholes causing major damage to peoples’ cars and it’s about time that local authorities started communicating more openly with drivers and other road users about the problem.
“As well as damage being caused to vehicles, potholes cause major traffic delays and a congestion problems as costly road works are carried out, something that drivers should also be made aware of before the work is started.”
