Texas Oil Boom in 2013 Helps U.S. Become Energy Independent
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) September 11, 2013 -- The Texas oil industry has boomed significantly over the last 10 years, with over 839 drilling rigs operating (22.7% of all the rigs worldwide). New drilling rigs are being prospected and drilled each day, as new breakthroughs in oil exploration technology have uncovered new opportunities all across the state.
A lot of the new oil activity is focused in the Permian Basin, a region of West Texas that has the majority of all of Texas' oil rigs (403 rigs). As Peggy Williams, the editorial director at Hart Energy, puts it, "it's a very prolific conventional basin that produces in many, many zones. If you're in an area that's produced a lot of oil, it's a good place to look for more oil. In the Permian you have a world-class petroleum basin. There's just oil all over the place."
The Permian Basin is estimated to produce 1.65 million barrels of oil per day by 2020. Another hot area for oil is the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas, which is estimated to produce 2.4 million barrels of oil per day over the coming years (much more than some OPEC companies can produce).
As more and more domestic oil & natural gas continues to be discovered on a regular basis, the dream of the United States not having to rely on foreign energy resources is becoming a reality.
Helping lead the charge towards increased US oil production is Austin oil and gas firm Carson Energy, which helps its partners discover opportunities in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado and even in Australia.
As CEO Carter Bills states, "What sets us apart from our competitors is we are a family-run business that has been in operation for over 30 years, consistently providing our client base with excellent customer service, holding their hand every step of the way."
Using state-of-the-art technology, Carson Energy continues to discover exciting new oil & natural gas opportunities across the U.S. As Senior Executive Officer Steve Owen puts it, "I don’t know of anybody else that’s doing well or field generation from leases up and involving clients in that process from the ground floor up. We are focused on unique opportunities that our competition does not have."
