Leading airport commercial revenues title The Moodie Report has revealed its list of the Top 25 Travel Retailers worldwide, a special report providing the most accurate and up to date figures on the leading players in the global duty free & travel retail industry.
The study, which is based on final 2012 turnover figures from each company, features extensive comment and analysis, and is one of the best read features of the year across The Moodie Report’s titles (http://www.TheMoodieReport.com), and the most quoted ranking by airports, analysts and investment banks worldwide.
The Moodie Report reveals that Hong Kong-based DFS Group (majority owned by luxury goods group LVMH) is the world’s leading travel retailer by turnover, with the top five completed by Dufry Group, LS travel retail (a division of Lagardère Services), Lotte Duty Free of Korea and Autogrill’s Travel Retail & Duty Free division.
The latest list shows some fascinating shifts in the rankings from the previous report, driven in part by the surging influence of the Chinese consumer, and also by factors such as industry consolidation and currency effects.
This is the third annual Top 25 Travel Retailers report compiled exclusively by The Moodie Report – uniquely it takes account of both duty free and duty paid sales, as well as speciality (not just core category duty free) sales. It includes sales from all duty free and travel retail channels, including airports, airlines, cruise lines and ferries, seaports and border stores.
