ProRehab Director Named Outstanding Alumnus of 2013
Evansville, IN (PRWEB) September 03, 2013 -- ProRehab is proud to announce that Phil Plisky, PT, DSc, OCS, ATC, CSCS, Director of ProRehab and the University of Evansville’s Sports Residency Program was named Outstanding Alumnus of 2013 by Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP) during their August 3 Commencement Ceremony.
Dr. Plisky, who is a practicing physical therapist ProRehab, was recognized because of his clinical practice and research focusing on comprehensive movement testing and injury prevention among athletes, military personnel, and school aged children. This research led to the development of the Y Balance Test and the Move2Perform software, a comprehensive system designed to determine an individual’s musculoskeletal status. His fieldwork has garnered research grants in collaboration with multiple universities totaling over 1.5 million dollars. As part of his work with ProRehab, a leader in sports injury prevention and treatment, he consults for collegiate and professional teams, military, and school systems to identify injury risk and offer prevention options.
“Time and time again, Dr. Plisky has demonstrated his dedication to the protection of human subjects by drawing on his personal experience as a clinician and devoted parent,” said RMUoHP Institutional Review Board manager Darcy L. Hammer. “He brings a sophisticated level of both clinical and research expertise to the injury prevention discussion.”
Dr. Plisky’s peer-reviewed articles have appeared in numerous scientific journals, several of which he serves as a manuscript reviewer. He also presents internationally on the subjects of return to sport testing, injury prevention, and field expedient movement testing. He also runs a successful blog, “Phil Plisky: Passionately Leading the Injury Prevention Revolution”, which provides information on the benefits of annual musculoskeletal examinations, injury prevention, pre-activity physicals, and more.
Dr. Plisky earned his Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Evansville and his Doctor of Science degree in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from RMUoHP. He is an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties certified clinical specialist in orthopedics, a Certified Athletic Trainer, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
