The Greater Hartford Arts Council is New England's largest independent arts council

ForeSite Technologies, a web development and digital marketing firm based in East Hartford, CT, has launched a new website for the Greater Hartford Arts Council at

Since 1971 the Greater Hartford Arts Council has supported the arts and culture in greater Hartford with grants, special programs and other services. The Greater Hartford Arts Council approached ForeSite because they had outgrown their current website, which had become difficult to navigate over the years.

The new website ForeSite designed features a clean design which is easy to navigate and features an artistic theme with splashes of color against an off-white canvas background. The Council’s logo features four distinct colors: red, blue, gold and green. Each section of the website uses one of these colors to stand out—a visual style which makes it clear to site visitors which section they are currently browsing.

Since the arts are often a communal experience, the Arts Council wanted interactive calendars for upcoming events. ForeSite developed a 7 Day Forecast which offers an overview of upcoming events. In addition, anyone can submit events to the cultural calendar, which ensures that all events are promoted throughout the region.

"The new streamlines our audience's ability to explore and engage with the arts in Greater Hartford," Tim Yergeau, Director of Communications & Donor Relations at the Greater Hartford Arts Council said. "From the improved functionality of our online events calendar to the new interactivity of our public art map, our updated website makes our local arts and cultural scene even more accessible to those who live, work and play in our region."
