“This is information that impacts millions of people who are attending college or have just graduated, because it helps them make important career decisions,”

According to a survey performed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (published April 2013), the average starting salary for 2013 graduates earning bachelor’s degrees has risen to $45,000. This is up 5.3% from the average starting salary for the class of 2012. Open Colleges has created a new infographic that features similar college graduation facts, including average expected salaries by discipline.

“This is information that impacts millions of people who are attending college or have just graduated, because it helps them make important career decisions,” explains Karl Adamsas, of Open Colleges, the creator of the infographic. “This information can be instrumental in helping people choose a major, know what salary to ask for, and what their options are for the degree they have earned.”

Open Colleges has created the infographic that anyone can use online. It can easily be used by inserting their code into the website. The infographic, titled “Which College Graduates Will Earn the Most Money in 2013?” features key information regarding college degrees in America, including such facts as:

  •     Starting salary for those with a college degree.
  •     Average salary by college degree discipline.
  •     Highest-paying college majors.
  •     Top-paying industries for those with a college degree.
  •     Employment and unemployment rate for bachelor’s degree holders.
  •     Where college graduates find work.

“The information is helpful to have as a sidebar for anyone who is writing about the value of a college education, how employment and unemployment are impacted by having a college degree, or as a stand-alone piece,” added Adamsas.

Those who would like to use the infographic on their own website, blog, or other online forum can click this link to download it. The infographic was published in August 2013 and is available to anyone and is free to use on the Open Colleges website.
