INSIDE Public Accounting’s Fourth Annual Ranking of the Nation’s Top 200 Accounting Firms
(PRWEB) September 03, 2013 -- INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA) is pleased to present its fourth annual ranking of the IPA 200 public accounting firms.
“With more than 500 firms participating in the IPA annual Survey and Analysis of Firms this year, along with many CPA firm associations contributing to the search to identify the IPA 200, this prestigious group joins the IPA 100 as the definitive ranking of the nation’s largest public accounting firms,” says Kelly Platt, principal of The Platt Group, the publisher of IPA.
For the most recent fiscal year, IPA 200 firms range in size from $14 million to $30 million, and from 60 to 200 staff. As a group, they account for over 11,000 staff across 300 offices, generate $2 billion in revenues.
“The IPA 200 averaged 4.3% top-line growth, and 3.7% growth in the bottom line,” says Michael Platt, principal of the Platt Group, the publisher of IPA. “A full 20% of the IPA 200 derive more than 30% of their revenues from non-traditional services, providing powerful and profitable niches for these firms. The Southeastern U.S. finds itself home to the highest concentration of IPA 200 firms at 28%, followed closely by the Western states at 24% of the total,” Platt says.
“Similar to their IPA 100 peers, the IPA 200 are also engaged in acquisitions to grow in size, scope and capability, with over 25 mergers reported for the group last year, pulling over 400 staff and $40 million more to the aggregate numbers of the group,” says Kelly Platt.
“We are pleased to announce Braver has been recognized as one of the largest accounting firms in the nation by INSIDE Public Accounting for four consecutive years,” said Dennis S. Pellecchia, Chairman, President & CEO, Braver PC. “This recognition is a true reflection of the hard work and dedication of our exceptional team of professionals.
