Lauren Ward to help Southern companies connect with top independent talent.

Business Talent Group, which brings organizations and top-tier independent professionals together to drive change and address business challenges, is deepening its Texas presence with the addition of Director Lauren Ward to the Austin Client Development team. A former independent consultant with a background in strategic marketing, and an MBA from UT Austin’s McCombs School of Business, Ward will work to serve Fortune1000 companies across Texas and the south.

“I look forward to leveraging my business development background and my independent consulting experience to educate companies about the power of this model,” Ward says.

BTG, founded seven years ago, helps some of the world’s best known companies, private equity firms, and non-profits harness independent consultants and executives to do work once performed by traditional consulting firms or permanent employees. The company has been recognized by The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review and has offices in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, and Austin.

A cum laude graduate of Duke, Ward has a broad range of communications and consulting experience. She began her career at Ernst & Young, and served as the special marketing project manager for Freescale as it spun off from Motorola; as an independent consultant, she led projects at EarthSky Communications, Cambia Research, Public Strategies, and the Forte Foundation. After successfully battling breast cancer in 2012, she was named the first Alumni Ambassador to the Duke Cancer Institute for founding the Blue Devils vs. Cancer alumni organization.
