Couple Charged with DUI While Driving the Same Car
(PRWEB) September 04, 2013 -- When police officers pulled over Jason Misencik, 33 and Crystal Seachrist, 24, they arrested both on DUI charges. Misencik was spotted swerving before pulling into a parking lot to switch seats with Seachrist. After switching seats, police pulled the car over and arrested the couple for driving drunk, in the same car, on the same night reported The Sentinel (8.7.13).
The Beaver County Times (8.6.13) reported that police saw Misencik and Seachrist switch seats in the parking lot before pulling them over. Police officers stated they smelled alcohol on both of them and they were both incapable of driving safely. Misencik's blood-alcohol content was higher than the state limit, while Seachrist's was just below the limit.
The couple lives together in New Sewickley Township and faces a preliminary hearing on August 30, 2013 stated The Sentinel. Drunken driving and other charges were filed against both for their involvement in the July 4, 2013 incident.
Docket: CP-02-CR-0005502-2013
Neither Misencik, nor Seachrist have an attorney listed in the online court records. "Without an attorney building a strong defense, both could face harsh penalties for drunken driving," stated Steven Kellis, a Philadelphia DUI Lawyer. "A skilled attorney can spot mistakes made by the police and may be able to lessen the penalties of the arrest."
"The state of Pennsylvania takes DUI charges very seriously. Without the defense of an attorney, DUI charges can lead to jail time, a suspended license and large fines," Kellis said. If you've recently been arrested and charged with a DUI, it's time to let an attorney build your defense and protect your rights. Contact Steven E. Kellis of Kellis Law at 215-940-1200.
