Saint Mary's University Roundtable with Sen. Klobuchar a Success
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 03, 2013 -- Last week, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) was on the Twin Cities campus of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota with higher education policy leaders and more than 80 veterans and civilians from the community to discuss education and workforce issues and opportunities for returning veterans. The issue of transitioning veterans from service to the work has long been at the forefront of education policy in the United States. Many veterans have troubles integrating back into the workplace after coming home and face complex issues.
"We were happy to sit down with Sen. Klobuchar to talk about what we can do to help in preparing veterans to adjust to the civilian workplace. As Saint Mary's looks toward its next 100 years, it is committed to working on higher education solutions and bringing people together for the common good," said Brother William Mann, FSC, President of Saint Mary's University. “We have captured all the information that was discussed on August 26 and look forward to providing it to Sen. Klobuchar as she continues to advocate for our veterans in Washington, D.C.”
